Cutting, Weighing & Packaging
Due to the nature of the way meat is prepared, we make it very clear at Cleavers.ca that the price charged at the time you place the order online is that of an approximated weight.
In a nutshell, this means that once your product is cut, the actual cut-weight may be slightly less than or greater than the amount billed online, and is subject to, but not limited to, a +/- 15.00% variation once the order is delivered to you.
As an example, let's say you placed an order online for a half-inch cut of AAA New York Striploin and paid $13 for one pound. When we cut the meat, if that half-inch cut ends up actually weighing slightly less than one pound, then we would refund you the difference. Conversely, if that half-inch cut ends up weighing slightly more than one pound, then we would bill you for the difference. In either situation, no credit or debit charges would occur after the initial order without you first giving us permission to do so either by phone or in person when we arrive at your door with your order.

All orders will be delivered to the address provided by the client once your payment has been processed and approved unless alternative payment arrangements have been made. Delivery will occur every Thursday between the hours of 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Cleaver will contact you approximately 15 minutes before arrival. Orders will only be dropped off at the prearranged address once it has been verified and signed for by the customer. Any discrepancies should be noted on the shipping receipt. If a customer is not available at the prearranged time, then they must contact client services as soon as possible to arrange for an alternate delivery time. There is no charge for delivery. If no one is available to receive the order, we will not leave it at the door. The order will be returned to our location and held in the cooler for 24 hours and an effort made to arrange an alternate delivery time within that 24 hour period. An additional charge of $25.00 will be added for re-delivery. In the event I am unsuccessful in contacting you and you have failed to contact Cleaver within 1 hour of notification being left at the delivery address provided, there will be a 100% refund credited to your account and the order becomes the property of Cleavers.ca. Future orders will be suspended immediately until contact has been made to discuss the future status of using my service.
First and foremost, we do not share the information received with anyone outside Cleavers.ca. Within Cleavers.ca, identifiable information is processed and stored in a secure and confidential database and is distributed only on a “need to know” basis for client service purposes.
In circumstances where such information is used for statistical analysis and marketing, only non-personally identifiable information is utilized unless you specifically authorize the use of such information. Cleavers.ca will use information as needed for follow up contacts.
You may at any time ask that personally identifiable information not be used for the foregoing purposes. In addition, you may at any time inquire to determine what information we do have, and to request correction of any errors in it.
We retain only the e-mail addresses of those that write or submit orders to us. These e-mail addresses are not accessible to end-users of the web site and will never be given out, lent or sold.
If you have cookie notification enabled in your web browser, you will have noticed that some of our pages set cookies. They are used only to keep track of the user while on the site. Should you want to, you can delete them after your visit.
This web site may contain links to other sites. Cleavers.ca is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.
We do not share, swap or sell our mailing lists or personal information files to any third party. All information collected on this site is for processing orders and is only accessed by authorized personnel.
All debit card information is captured for only the order that you are placing. We do not keep your debit card information on file for future orders. This is just one more way of insuring your privacy when dealing with Cleavers.ca.
Products shipped in error on our part will be replaced with the correct item. Any necessary price adjustments will be made through Interac On Line. Errors must be reported at time of delivery.
Any product that is noticeably spoiled within 24 hours of delivery that has not been cooked, frozen, seasoned or mishandled by the customer shall be refunded or replaced. Any claim must be made within 24 hours of delivery. There are no other circumstances where a return or refund will be considered. The original receipt must accompany all products to be considered for replacement. All returns are subject to inspection and cleavers.ca reserves the right to refuse any product.
We reserve the right to change prices without notice. The price you pay will be the one on the site as of your order day and time. Prices posted on this site are for cleaver.ca service only and are subject to change without notice to reflect current market pricing. All prices listed are based on Canada AA (Beef) or higher and Canada Grade A (Poultry). Actual charges for order will be based on actual product weight +/- to the nearest ordered weight.

In no event will Cleavers.ca be liable for any damages, including without limitation direct or indirect, special, incidental, compensatory, exemplary or consequential damages, losses or expenses, including without limitation lost or misdirected orders, lost profits, lost registrations, lost goodwill, or lost or stolen programs or other data, however caused and under any theory of liability arising out of or in connection with (1) use of this site, or the inability to use this site by any party; or (2) any failure or performance, error, omission, interruption, defect, delay in operation or transmission; or (3) line or system failure or the introduction of a computer virus, or other technical sabotage, even if cleavers.ca, its employees or representatives thereof, are advised of the possibility or likelihood of such damages, losses or expenses.
